WarmtelinQ pipelines to be used for EemsEnergyTerminal
Gasunie is working on the construction of a floating LNG installation at Eemshaven (Groningen), which should be ready by next winter; this project is backed by the Dutch government and aims to minimise dependency on Russian gas. Heat transport pipelines are needed for this installation to function properly and, for that reason, Gasunie is making WarmtelinQ project pipelines available.
Part of the insulated pipeline for the WarmtelinQ project, which is the heat transport pipeline from Vlaardingen to The Hague, will be made available to enable completion of the new floating EemsEnergyTerminal; about three kilometres of pipeline will be provided. Gasunie has taken this decision so that the terminal can be operational this autumn as planned. This will not affect the stipulated final date for completion of WarmtelinQ.
Adapted schedule
Meanwhile, preparations for the construction of WarmtelinQ will carry on. Having said this, it will be necessary to adapt work plans for some sections of the pipeline route. WarmtelinQ and its stakeholders will do everything in their power to achieve their targets with the least possible inconvenience.
